Have you been curious about the foundation and fundamental layers of the yoga tradition…? (Modern yoga actually looks completely different than ancient yoga practices!)
Join us for a special two (or three) day workshop/training and discover the multifaceted history and deep philosophy behind the practice of yoga.
Designed for both practitioners and yoga teachers, this introductory course explores yoga’s origins, its evolution over time, and the foundational texts that shape its philosophy. We will touch on key concepts from the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Additionally, we will discuss various yoga traditions, as well as the 8 limbs of yoga, and how they remain applicable today. As we take a historical journey through the timeline of yoga’s different iterations into the emergence of postural yoga in the west, we can understand the lasting impact of its history on modern practice.
Through engaging discussions, reflections, and guided practices, you will gain a deeper understanding of yoga beyond the physical postures, learning how its timeless wisdom can be applied to daily life. Whether you’re new to yoga or looking to deepen your knowledge, this workshop will provide a meaningful foundation for your journey.
Everyone is welcome (no prior yoga experience needed). This unique workshop is ideal for those who are interested in learning more about vast system of yoga, but is also open to existing yoga teachers that need continuing education (20 CEUs).
