Christie creates a warm, welcoming environment in her Hatha Yoga classes. She guides students at a relaxed pace through a mindful yoga practice, which is appropriate for students of all levels. Her classes incorporate centering meditation, breath work, and postures with a focus on introspection and relaxation. All of her classes include the practice of iRest® Yoga Nidra, a deeply restful guided meditation which is easy to practice(seated or lying down), yet very deep. She is a level II graduate of The Integrative Restoration Institute and is currently working on her full Level III certification for the practice of iRest Yoga Nidra. She enjoys a quote from Patajili, “Yoga calms the fluctuations of the mind. Then the true self appears.”

iRest ® Yoga Nidra is a powerful healing path. Christie presently teaches a six week series of iRest classes which help students learn the wisdom to welcome, meet, greet the continuous fluctuations in life. The meditative steps to this practice are designed to release stress and tension, but it also leads students down a natural path to self-discovery!

Additionally, Christie has a master’s degree in Special Education. She teaches mildly handicapped students at the elementary level. Christie became a registered Yoga teacher in 2006 with Lori McCormick.  She also practices Vipasana Meditation with Sacramento Insight Meditation. She volunteers at the Sacramento Veterans Center where she teaches iRest Yoga Nidra. She is happily married and shares a home near the American River with her husband Tom.

Christie has a wonderful marriage and a delightful booger cat. She likes hiking, bird watching, gardening and travel, especially to the ocean! She is an elementary school teacher of special needs students.
